Tartans in stock in our Highland Warehouse and can access many more. At any
one time we aim to have over a hundred tartans on our shelves but can often
get the missing ones by return - in fact we have access to nearly 1000 tartans!

We run a variety of weights
for different requirements and can arrange for really unusual tartans to
be hand woven.

Our own "in house" tartans
are excellent value for money at only
£19 / $27 per metre double
width. This cloth is 11oz. and is ideal for ladies kilts as well as skirts,
trousers and waistcoats etc. It’s also excellent for curtains &
drapes within the house. Recently this weight has become very popular as
the weight to wear to Ceillidhs (Scottish country dance parties) Young men
find it an ideal weight for this! We only carry about eighty tartans in
this value for money cloth.

Our standard Kilt weight
is 13oz and is the
most popular for Kilts. This is your classic kilt weight and is ideal
for men’s kilts. We source this from a number of mills; the quality
is superb. It’s more expensive than our house tartans but is still very
good value at £37 / $55 per
metre , again this cloth is double width. This weight is available
in about five hundred tartans from three main mills.

If you wish a heavier cloth
then you may wish to go for a heavy weight which is 15oz. This makes
a heavy kilt, similar to an Army kilt weight. It’s not quite bullet
proof but it will stand up to a lot of abuse! This is slightly more expensive
at £39 / $58 per metre
. Available in about two hundred tartans.

Special “one off”
Tartans. If we
can’t get a tartan of the shelf, then we can, arrange for a special
weave. Minimum lengths are four metres, weaving time usually about eight
weeks and this cloth is only single width (approx 80cm). Price is
£35 / $52 per metre .
Available in about two hundred tartans.

We now have a large selection
of "Old & Rare Clan & District Tartans" available. They are
a medium weight cloth in a double width and are
£49 / $74 per metre per
metre. A kilt made from this cloth will be
£375 / $563 .
